As part of AFTA’s commitment to workforce development for the travel industry, and in order to better connect Australian travel and tourism educators, AFTA Education and Training will be holding a Symposium on Tuesday and Wednesday the 4th and 5th of October 2011.

With the support of KPMG, the Symposium will be held on the 15th floor of their Sydney office, 10 Shelley Street, Sydney.

AFTA is pleased to see the strong support of this initiative from the industry with a line up of premium speakers and senior industry attendees already registered for the event.

Rick Myatt, Director of AFTA Education and Training says “our industry has not been actively engaging with the training providers/educators on this scale for a long time and as such, we feel this is now needed to generate understanding for both the industry and the educators, of each other’s perspective and to seek ways to further align training to the workforce development requirements. In particular, this event will fulfil the urgent need to improve the currency of industry knowledge of our educators nationally.”

Among the line up of confirmed speakers are:
Fiona Dalton - Qantas Holidays
James Dymock - Virgin Australia
Ian Lorigan - IATA
